Island Cleanup

Together, let's keep our island clean and beautiful

Protecting our green spaces

Nuns' Island is a natural gem in the heart of Montreal. Its parks, trails and shorelines are home to remarkable biodiversity that deserves to be preserved. Unfortunately, litter and pollution threaten these fragile ecosystems.

At Ile des Fleurs, we organize community cleanup days to restore our island to its full splendour. These events bring together citizens of all ages who share a common goal: protecting our local environment and providing a healthy habitat for wildlife and plant life.

What our volunteers do

Litter collection

We walk through parks, trails and shorelines to pick up discarded litter. Every piece of waste removed protects local wildlife and improves our living environment.

Invasive species removal

We identify and remove invasive plants that threaten native biodiversity, such as phragmites and buckthorn, to allow local species to thrive.

Awareness

Our volunteers share their knowledge with passers-by and neighbours, encouraging environmentally friendly practices and better waste management.
